QR-bill first

If the document has a Swiss QR code, Buchsnap reads the amount, IBAN, reference and supplier directly from it, with no typos.

On till receipts and scanned invoices, Buchsnap recognises dates, amounts and VAT rates in four languages.

How it works

From photo to draft entry

As soon as a receipt arrives, Buchsnap reads it on our own server: first the Swiss QR Code, if there is one, then the text. The result is a completed form that the accountant only has to check.

No external AI services

Recognition runs entirely on Buchsnap’s own server. Receipts are never sent to language models or third-party services. That matters for accountants, who need to be able to tell their clients where their data is processed.

Frequently asked questions

Does Buchsnap post entries automatically?

No. Buchsnap creates a draft. Nothing is posted until the accountant has checked and approved it.

How accurate is the recognition?

QR-bills are read exactly. With till receipts, it depends on the photo: you’ll get the best results if the receipt is well lit, flat and fully in frame.

Are receipts sent to an AI service?

No. Text recognition and the QR reader run on our own server. No external AI services are used.

Which languages does text recognition support?

German, French, Italian and English, which covers most Swiss receipts.

What happens to receipts in foreign currencies?

Buchsnap detects the currency and converts it at the official exchange rate of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS/BAZG) when posting.
